Objects for Contemplation

Sculpture and Ceramics

Studio Lü makes vessels to explore how touch and time pass between maker and handler, investigating the spaces between control, intention, and surrender. Her inquiry currently takes shape in chawan and ikebana vessels — forms rooted in daily ritual and the philosophy of ichi-go ichi-e: the practice of treasuring the unrepeatable nature of a moment.

Her practice is shaped by sustained engagement with rupture, repair, and resilience, alongside the acculturation of East Asian heritage and Western upbringing, yielding objects of, and for, contemplation.
